When you can free solo beyond the realm of control, to the point of falling. "Instead of dying, I’m flying."

 

This was Dean Potter's mission when he blended two of his passions together, in the form of BASE soloing, and filmed this project on the Eiger's North Face. It was is the culmination of many disciplines; big wall climbing, free soloing, highlining, BASE jumping, and BASE lining.

 

"The scariest part of free soloing is the fall, or right before you fall… having a BASE rig on seemed just like the obvious, ultimate idea. When I have the rig on, I know there's more after that point when I detach from the rock."
