Boulder
Avatar

Growing up, Rocky Mountain native Abbey Smith latched onto two things--climbing and writing. Everything solidified when she moved to the climbing mecca of Boulder to pursue a degree in journalism at the University of Colorado. After graduating, Abbey forged a 4-year career as the editor, advertising manager and ‘fashionista’ for the green lifestyle publication, elephant journal. In 2007, she cut the ripcord and launched a successful freelance career, piecing together an unconventional climber-writer-traveler lifestyle and career path. A Marmot/La Sportiva/Revolution Climbing/Native-sponsored athlete, Abbey has taken her passion for adventure, writing and exploratory bouldering to the upper echelons.
