As the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada, Vancouver spawned its roots around the early gold rush and thanks to the Canadian Pacific Railway’s interest in the city there was no looking back. Now a major hub for countless industries, Vancouver occupies the entire peninsula between the Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River and acts as the primary gateway to British Columbia’s vast wilderness playground. But you don’t need to go far from the savvy and sophisticated downtown epicenter to play outside. With only 30 hours free to explore the city, I took to bike and boat to make the most of my time in --and around-- the City of Glass.
