It's true, we just made up two words. Merging 'mountain' with 'attitude', and 'skiers' and 'riders', in an attempt to fully glorify my investigative results showcasing the different perspectives of East Coast and West Coast mountain sliders. You know the stereotypes: Western sk'riders(*) enjoy bigger mountains and deep powder, while East Coasters endure crappier conditions that make them tougher. But are those beliefs legit? On recent trips to Vermont (Stowe, Killington, Okemo) and Lake Tahoe (Heavenly, Kirkwood, Sierra, Squaw, Alpine Meadows) I interviewed folks on lifts, around gondolas, and in bars to get the real story. Here's what I learned, in photo + sound bite form. (*I credit my buddy Erik for coming up with this word to describe a group that includes both skiers and riders.)
