Peru is one of the more visually stunning and culturally fascinating countries in the world, and --according to travel outfitter Sacred Rides-- the country boasts 30,000km of mountain biking singletrack and 10,000 vertical feet of downhill. That's enough to get the blood flowing, and then some.
Mike Brcic just returned from scouting the Olleros Trail, which features 95% downhill and freeride singletrack --and lots of it. As the owner of Sacred Rides, you might imagine he's not easily impressed when out sourcing new rides. One of the many highlights he reported for the Olleros was a three-hour downhill section totaling 9,842 feet on the fourth day of the trip.
Check out these images and commentary from his trip report, courtesy of Singletracks.com, and for more information about booking the trip visit SacredRides.com. They run three 10-day trips per year for groups up to 10 for around $2,500.
