Complete with mountains, water and lush forests, Squamish, British Columbia is a recreational hot spot best known for climbing, biking, hiking, kayaking, windsurfing and scuba diving. Some consider Squamish to be the outdoor recreation capital of Canada, which happens to be conveniently located between Vancouver and Whistler on the Sea to Sky highway.

Among the hot spots worth visiting during your stopover is Shannon Falls Provincial Park, which is home to the third highest falls in the province and some amazing hiking. Also nestled in the park is access to Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, which provides more than 1000 climbing routes and hosts major climbing competitions each summer. The area is also a hotbed for renown mountain biking, of course.
