Starting and ending in Glasgow, Freewheeling Adventures offers an incredible seven-day trip that winds through the country's fabled Druid and Stone Age countryside. Requiring moderate fitness levels, you ll cover distances of 50-80km (30-50mi.) per day only to be rewarded with country estates, gardens, pubs, distilleries, and castles by night. The lodging is exceptionally charming and hospitable, ranging from bed and breakfasts, lodges and hotels.
They re offering four guided trips for 2010, with the first group likely pedaling and hiking around Tobermory as I'm writing this; May 23-29, Jun 19-25, Aug 15-21, Sep 19-25. They also accommodate self-guided groups, from late-June through early-September, and offer equipment rentals and vehicle support.
For more information on this trip, or other multisport packages, visit Freewheeling Adventures.
What would make this really interesting is a bike tour of scotch distilleries.
