Mountains in Motion: March 2012 Aurora from The Upthink Lab on Vimeo.
The very last hours of a 10 day shooting session all over the Rockies were definitely among the most special for the Mountains In Motion crew, as they were treated to a surreal aurora display at Lake Minnewanka, in Banff National Park. This surreal Aurora Borealis, created by a recent solar flare, danced over Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park. The ice of the Lake of the Water Spirits frantically expanded and contracted, as if reacting to the magic above. This was one of the better displays in a long time for western Alberta. An incredible experience to witness these colors within the mountain park. We almost missed this completely, so the first half of the show was lost while we got to the location and set-up.
This sequence, and many others, will be featured in the upcoming time lapse documentary, Mountains in Motion: The Canadian Rockies.
Coming Fall 2012
