Considered by many hand-crafty revelers as the best week of the year, or year of the week depending on how many crafts you've actually celebrated, May 16-22, 2011 is the official American Craft Beer Week.

In an effort to fully recognize one of America's liquified culinary arts, the Brewers Association first created American Craft Beer Week (ACBW) in 2006 with a goal to create a nationwide platform for beer enthusiasts and independent brewers to connect on a local level.

For 2011, the Association is expecting events and gatherings in all 50 states and has encouraged supporters to connect in unison on the ACBW Facebook page. Check out the official calendar to view all registered ACBW events.

We can't think of a better reason to support your local brewery, while sharing a toast with your choice craft brew. And while you're at it, park the car at home and ride to the pub --this week is also "Bike to Work Week."
