The activities in the City of Spires are about as diverse as the bicycles scattered throughout the city: frothy breweries and loungey cocktail bars, the two oldest active amusement parks, a handful of museums, countless boutique shops, royal treatment at baroque palaces and fresh Scandinavian food.

Every day, 1.1 million kilometers are biked throughout the 350 km of cycle tracks and 40 km of green cycle routes. The Copenhagen bicycling infrastructure is a global role model, being the host of the 2010 Velo-City Global Conference, and by 2015 the city is anticipating 50% of citizens will commute to work, school or university by bicycle.
Making it easy for travelers to pedal, Copenhagen launched the first large-scale urban bike share programs in 1995. Choose from over 2,000 city-provided bikes buzzing the streets, or you can rent from a local shop. For a week trip, the shop option is great: ranging from $40/week for a cruiser to $80/week for a mountain or touring bike.
And if you're interested in getting wet, another great way of seeing Copenhagen is by kayak. The city is built on a network of canals and many of its most picturesque areas are alongside these waterways. Just like the bike rentals, kayak rentals are easy to obtain as are guided tours.
