A climber stretches his way up Hyalite's cold ice.
The Bozeman Ice Fest is more than a weekend of
slideshows and clinics, it is a small microcosm of
the sport as practiced in Montana. The 2010 Arc'teryx Bozeman Ice Fest was one for the books. In true representation of the sport and culture itself, the weekend was an emotional high and low as beginner and pro climbers celebrated big ascents, watched inspiring slideshows and award presentations, and remembered fallen icons.
Hyalite Canyon is an ice hotbed and an ideal locale for the Fest, it's also the location where -true legend- Guy Lacelle had a fatal accident in 2009. The weekend turned into an ongoing celebration of his life and accomplishments, not to mention one heck of a party in his honor.
